Why study Enterprise?

BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise has been designed to help KS4 14-16-year-old learners develop their business skills through practical and skills- based learning. Students who are interested in researching companies, presenting ideas and applying financial concepts are perfect for this course. It will prepare students for future study in Business disciplines and for the world of work.

What will I study?

• Component 1: Exploring enterprises
• Component 2: Planning for and pitching an enterprise
• Component 3: Promotion and Finance for enterprise (external exam)

How will I study?

You will study through teacher led activities supported by visits to local and national enterprises, the use of ICT and independent learning. You will also be encouraged to keep up to date with enterprises in the news.

• Component 1: Exploring Enterprises - Internally assessed Set Tasks (30% of the total course). Exam Conditions.
• Component 2: Planning for and Pitching an Enterprise Activity - Internally assessed Set Tasks (30% of the total course). Exam Conditions.
• Component 3: Promotion and Finance for Enterprise - Externally assessed task (40% of the total course).

You will then receive either a Level 1 Award or a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* at Level 2. To gain a D* you must have a Distinction in each component.
