On Wednesday 29th January at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Aylesbury UTC competed for the prestigious Ultimate Challenge Cup against twelve other Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire schools. With more schools joining The Big Challenge for the second year of this Action 4 Youth event, the competition was fiercer than ever!
The Big Challenge is a series of tests of teamwork, initiative and problem solving across 13 challenges. All of the teams performed with great ingenuity and the room was filled with shouts of encouragement and laughter.
Launched in 2024 as a celebration of the achievements of young people across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, The Big Challenge brings together students, teachers and community leaders for a day of friendly competition, awards and insightful discussions.
“Our team of students came together exceptionally well to pull off a masterclass in teamwork! They excelled in their communication and problem solving, and completely out played the larger schools. It was a fantastic performance from them, and they should be extremely proud of themselves, I know we all are, and it shows that the Aylesbury UTC is well and truly on the up and should be considered a force to be reckoned with!” - Mr Ferguson, AUTC Teacher
Aylesbury UTC are proud to be this year’s winners of The Big Challenge trophy, plus a cheque for £1,000! They will be defending their title next year, and hope to retain glory for the Buckinghamshire schools!
