Over the last four months, teams of year 10 and 12 students worked on a Dragon’s Den style pitch for the Aylesbury UTC partnership with Accenture. Each team had to produce a PowerPoint presentation on how they believe the NHS could be improved with the use of AI.

Finally, on the 12th June, three lucky teams were chosen to present their pitches in the Accenture building in London in front of an exciting panel of judges, including experts from both Accenture and the NHS.

The project was a chance to allow students to develop their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in an engaging way, while also responding to real world challenges that they may face when it comes to their own careers in the healthcare or digital sector. By exploring how Artificial Intelligence could support the NHS, students were encouraged to think critically about the future of healthcare and the role technology will play in improving efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.

Throughout the process, students were given insightful workshops that bettered their understanding of the fundamentals of AI, how Accenture uses AI, and the basics of what makes a good presenter.

This year’s project was yet another amazing opportunity for the students to challenge their thinking and build confidence in their abilities as they move closer to the world of work.
