Aylesbury University Technical College (Aylesbury UTC) joined MTOAT on 1 November 2021.
Aylesbury UTC is an innovative, dynamic, employment-led environment, which prepares young people to become highly skilled employees of the future through the integration of business with education. There is a focus on building productive relationships with the IT, Health, and Social Care industries through the curriculum and beyond. Our students take part in industry-specific project-led learning experiences. We aim to develop professional and motivated students who will proactively represent the values and ethos of the UTC. We want our students to achieve their full potential and be successful in life, learning and their future careers.
Aylesbury UTC offers a STEM-based education for 14 - 19 year olds. Students specialise in Digital or Health & Social Care, whilst gaining English, Maths and Science and industry-specific qualifications. The UTC brings together Buckinghamshire New University and major employers such as Cisco, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Home Instead and Amazon, as well as numerous small local businesses. Our aim is to support current and future local employment sectors through providing the next generation of well-trained young people.
Aylesbury UTC is a growing community and draws students from our catchment across Buckinghamshire, South West Hertfordshire and into Oxfordshire.

Consultation on 2027-28 admissions arrangements for MTOAT schools
We are consulting on the 2027-28 Admissions Policy, as is required in the school admissions code.
The Aylesbury UTC 2027-28 Admissions Policy reflects changes made in line with the 2027-28 admission rules and arrangements for secondary schools. An overview of the major changes compared to the school’s 2026-27 Admissions Policy are:
- In the oversubscription criteria:
- We changed children of “staff of MTOAT employed by the school” to children of “members of Aylesbury UTC staff” - in line with the school admissions code.
- Children with an EHCP are now admitted prior to application of the oversubscription criteria, and “children with a disability” as a criterion is no longer required by the school admissions code.
- Additional definitions have been provided for siblings; parent; looked after children; previously looked after children and children of staff.
- The section for “tie breakers” has been removed, as this is not applicable with the oversubscription criteria.
- The PAN for each year group is; year 9 (60), year 10 (120, year 12(180).
For reference, the current Aylesbury UTC 2026-27 Admissions Policy is available here.
